rompers...

Okay, so I'm not talking teddies, or body suits, or anything of that like, we're talking strictly rompers.  I LOVE rompers.  Sure, they're a little more difficult to maneuver and fit than a teddy due to the fact that you have to make sure that the length fits your torso (which I realize can be a PAIN) but I adore them.  They're adorably fun and quirky while still remaining sexy.  What exactly is the discriminatory factor between a romper and bodysuit you may ask?  I say that if there's even the slightest sign of a "short" in the garment, it's a romper.  Here are a few of my favorites:

something a wee bit sexier at bella bella boutique

and my absolute favorite place for rompers, zinke

What do you think ladies?  Do you swoon for a sexy romper?   Or would you rather stick to a traditional teddy?  I mean, you can't go wrong with the classics, I just know that as for myself, I am a definite fan of anything new and flirty in the knickers department.  I love.

claire pettibone . heirloom

Claire Pettibone...is. an. absolute. goddess.  I am in adoration of her.  Her bridal gowns are divine, and the fact that she pulled the trigger and delved into lingerie makes me so incredibly happy.  I know that this collection has been around for a while, but a lot of the time when looking for knickers, one doesn't think to go to a renowned bridal gown designer.  Well now, without any further sidetracking...Miss Pettibone's Heirloom Collection:

Okay, now I'm a sucker for feminine and masculine elements intertwining, however I cannot deny the absolute radiance that comes from her highness.  I just adore the ridiculously dainty chantilly lace, and lets not forget the GORGEOUS sheers and subtle ribbon detailing.  It's so divinely sweet and feminine.  Exceedingly sexy without being overtly scandalous. To see more, go to the claire pettibone website.  Last remark...that teddy?  To DIE for.

Summer's coming, and with it comes fun slinky tanks that either have extremely slim straps, low armholes, and/or open backs, and you're a girl who just CAN NOT justify going without a bra.  Whether it's a matter of comfort or you can't stand the worry of having a Janet Jackson moment, you want that bra there, for support both physically, and emotionally.  You are talking to one of those girls.  I don't care what you say, the worry of a nip slip in any of these shirts/tanks is always on my mind if I was to ever brave it and go bra-less.  Not to mention the heightened uncomfort.  Ouch!  So, I took it upon myself to scope the web and try to find you ladies cute bras that are okay to show off (for fun neon colors in basic bra styles see the below post).  Hope that some of these tickle your fancy!

neon

I am a huge believer in having ones lingerie fit seamlessly and comfortably underneath a woman's clothing, that there is no bigger sin in the fashion world than a white bra under a white shirt (please, oh please, oh PLEASE don't do this!)  However...with underpinnings trends heading towards neon...I say, what the heck!  I adore the look of a neon green bra underneath a white tee in the summer!

It's so fun and fresh when women have fun with their underpinnings, and lets be honest, all flies in the summer time!  So here are some of my favorites that I've found for you, reaching out to each end of the monetary spectrum.

On a tighter budget, I have to go with American Eagle's underpinning sector, aerie, all bras on sale for $24.99!  Their underwear is extremely comfortable and I owned an aerie bra a while back and it was pretty darn comfortable!  Not to mention, the COLORS!!  And in so many different styles, love.

Moving forward in price, I'm loving Hanky Panky's knickers, $29/pair.  So bloody adorable.  Again, the colors are so vibrant and fun!  I've always wanted to test out a pair, but they look uber comfy...

As for the middlin' price point, this is actually my favorite neon undies set.  Brought to you by the amazing Claudette team, the Dessous set is absolutely amazing.  I adore the design and color, and they look really comfortable.  Which is always a plus.  Loving the set!  And there is an extremely wide variety of colors, from green to blue to orange to pink and everything in between.  So fun.

Falling towards the higher end, Fleur of England.  AH!  So luxurious, the design is absolutely stunning.  I adore the amazing ability these knickers have of being insanely cute and exceedingly sexy at the same time.  How do they do such things?!

Bra $115  |  Brief $83  |  Babydoll $220

And finally, the high end edge of the spectrum is a set brought to you by Deborah Marquit.  Love!  $225 for the bra, $110 for the undies.  By the way, I'm a huge fan of this citron color that's making its way into the fashion world.  It's not quite yellow, but isn't really lime...adore!  And I'm loving it in this set:

So what do you think ladies?  Neon under a white tee?  Or do we stick to the nude underpinnings.  I think we all know which way I'm leaning...

von follies by dita von teese

I have a confession to make.  Please, don’t judge me.  I wish I didn’t feel this way, I really do, but…I’m not a huge burlesque fan.  THERE!  I’ve said it, it’s out in the open and now you know.  I just find pasties with fringe extremely  cheesy, and most of all un-classy.  This is a blog all about knickers yes, but that is an article of lingerie that this girl will never get into, understand, or review.

Now, having said as much, have you seen Dita Von Teese’s new lingerie line??  Von Follies by Dita Von Teese launched in the UK, exclusively at Debenham's, has also been available at Targets down under for a bit now.  So, it’s easy to understand why you may not have heard about the glorious collection, but it’s just that. Beautiful.  As you can tell by now, I am a huge fan of vintage lingerie, it’s so feminine and glamorous without being kitschy.  I’m in love with her line, and honestly, really quite enamored with her.  Besides the fact that Dita’s demeanor is extraordinarily composed and collected she balances her love of vintage fashion with modernism seamlessly.  That may sound impossible, but hear me out.  Her hair, so divinely vintage, her makeup, a definite throw back, and her fashion is definitely influenced by eras past, but is it all vintage?  Or is it more retro?  She never looks out of place even paired with a far more modern and trend-following personage, and I believe that’s due to her more retro-ness.  She’s got this unbelievable air that exudes confidence and comfort, and I say kudos for being amazing.

Enough of my gushing!  Check out some of the pieces that are on sale now:

Okay, so now that you're falling in love, you're crying wailing, pleading, "Please!  Oh please, oh please.  Tell me where I can get these gorgeous knickers in the states??"  Rest assured, you can shop online at; asoshsn, and stylebop (although I couldn't find anything at stylebop!).  Happy shopping!

And now to finish with a quote from the goddess herself:

"From age 16 I worked in a lingerie store, and I had a very strong interest in the history of underpinnings and how styles changed from decade to decade. Even at age sixteen, I wanted to be a lingerie expert, so I did everything I could to learn about it! I started collecting vintage lingerie at a young age, and my love for it is what lead me to imitate pinup art of the 1940s, and that is what sparked my career as it is now. Even back then, I equated beautiful lingerie with femininity and everyday luxury rather than seduction. Of course, the art of seducing with lingerie is a wonderful thing, and I am quite aware of the effect it has....but first and foremost, a woman should seduce herself by choosing lingerie that is both beautiful and functional that she can wear in her everyday life, and so bringing these things together, along with affordability, is what I aimed to achieve with my lingerie collection."
